Pre-Arrangements
Our pre-arrangement services are designed to provide peace of mind to ease the burden on your loved ones when the time of passing arrives.
How Pre-Arrangement Works
First, we gather from you all of the personal and confidential information required by the Office of the Registrar General of Ontario. Then, we work with you to prepare all your final wishes and place them on file, such as interment or cremation, and whether you would prefer a funeral mass in a church or a prayer service in the funeral home chapel.
How Pre-Payment Works
Based on your final wishes, all necessary disbursements are established in a pre-paid funeral contract. This includes, but is not limited to, clergy, opening and closing of the grave, cremation fee, necessary taxes, etc.
(Pre-payment does not cover the purchase of cemetery lots, however; they may be purchased on a pre-need basis through the cemetery directly or at the time of need through the funeral home.)
This pre-payment is then placed in a trust fund, where interest accrued will cover any increase in fees or expenses over the years. Shortfalls are absorbed by the funeral home, and any surplus is returned to the estate. Should you at any time deem it necessary to cancel your pre-arrangement, a complete reimbursement is available.
The funeral directors of the Cooperative Funeral Home are at your disposal to advise you on all funeral related matters. Please contact us for more details.
