Frequently Asked Questions
Who Owns The Cooperative Funeral Home?
The Cooperative is fully owned by its members, and membership is open to all. It is not owned by or affiliated with any other funeral home or organization.
Do I Need To Be A Member?
The Cooperative Funeral Home is open to all, regardless of membership. Our members support our work to ensure we can continue to provide the best service possible not only for themselves, but for all members of the community.
Do I Need To Be French?
We are open to everyone. Although we were founded by the french community at a time when francophone services were not being adequately addressed, we have since expanded to welcome all cultures and languages, and indeed we retain English funeral directors on our team.
Do I Need To Be Catholic?
The Cooperative is open to all denominations, all faiths, as well as to the secular community. Our heritage is catholic, but we respect and appreciate the views and practices of all people and cultures. Funeral services are always adapted to the beliefs of the bereaved. We will never attempt to influence how you choose to honour the memory of the deceased.
